Mallom Liggon

Gen 0
Director of Impact and Partnerships
Loyola Marymount University

Mallom Liggon studied Screenwriting and African American Studies at LMU.  During his time with Diverso, Mallom co-created and co-lead Black Writers In Focus, the first-ever paid internship program for Black screenwriters, raising over $90,000 from Issa Rae's HOORAE, Oprah Winfrey's OWN, and WarnerMedia to make the program a reality. At LMU, Mallom also co-founded and lead Storytellers of Color, the first organization dedicated to BIPOC people at LMU's film school.

Mallom's passion for creating stories is to help us empathize with people on a journey to personal redemption. As someone who struggled with destructive behavioral issues in his youth, he loves to give second chances to his characters, and to as many others as possible through his educational diversity work, just like his teachers and loved ones gave him one when he needed it most.  He is excited to see the advancements of young underrepresented filmmakers across the globe.
