Kanika Talwar is a UCLA student majoring in Computational Systems and Biology and working towards a film minor. She loves the liberation and reflectivity that words and film provide, and she aspires to be at the forefront of telling authentic stories from diverse lenses that she didn’t have growing up. Kanika enjoys working on student-produced films and seeks community-based change and connection. She is a recipient of the Hindu Youth Award for leadership and service in Houston’s Hindu society and worked on the Southeast Texas board of the intersectional feminist organization, Girl Up. She believes that people seeing themselves in art is one of the most effective ways to segue society into progress.
