Giancarlo Renteria

Gen 1
Manager of Development
Loyola Marymount University

Giancarlo Renteria is a proud first-generation Mexican-American, born and raised in Southern California. He is graduating from Loyola Marymount University, with a major in Screenwriting for Film and Television. Driven by the power of storytelling, he’s passionate to further the representation in Hollywood and help the marginalized see themselves reflected on the screen. He's inspired by stories of human connection and hopes to write/produce diverse narratives with an emphasis on the Latinx experience. He is interested in working in TV writing rooms with a diverse group of writers, who can actually paint an honest BIPOC picture. His writing projects as of now deal with immigration issues and center on Queer Latinx stories. There is a whole world of struggles within the undocumented folk which deserves recognition. Representation Matters.
