Caitlyn Tran
Fellowship Coordinator
University of California, Irvine
Caitlyn Tran is currently majoring in Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine. Growing up Filipino and Vietnamese-American, she felt stuck between identities that didn’t quite feel whole, until film assured her those feelings didn’t mean she was alone. Building from this experience, she is driven by a commitment to fostering stories and spaces that center the experiences of those navigating identity displacement and psychological complexity, offering visibility to those who have rarely seen themselves represented. Caitlyn began her filmmaking with the Film Arts Drama Alliance (FADA) at UCI, improving her skill set in writing, directing, and producing. After joining as an intern her freshman year, she went on to lead the organization of FADA’s 26th Annual Film Festival before rising to her current role as Co-President. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, she continues to make time for student productions, serving as a Production Intern at Anteater Television (ATV), working on both professional narrative and music-focused sets. When not on set, she’s junk-journaling and baking, turning the scraps and chaos of everyday life into material worth remembering.
